Today we are in Portland Maine. We took a boat ride to house island. It has a civil war fort built into the ground (right) and 3 houses that were used to process immigrants during the first and second world war. It was a great day. We took a boat ride to the island hiked through fort, and ended the day with a lobster feast!

This is me enjoying a lobster feast. We had lobster, corn on the cob, clam chowde, coleslaw and roll.
The coast is lined with light houses here. Mark took a lighthouse excursion to see 4 of them. GPSs have put light houses out of bussiness.
Thhis a lobster fishing boat. They are checking the traps. They measure the catch and throw back ones that aren't big enough. Bou do they move fast.
My first time in Maine and I did enjoy it.

This is canadas equivalent to ellis island. Jimand I toured the museum. Moving.
Halifax has alaot of tragic history. The titanic sank not far off shore and the dead were brought here. Two ships colided off shore, one was a ammunitions boat, and they exploded and kill 2000 on shore! A flight from NYC to Switzerland crashed here also. These are reminders to the locals that life is not always as idilic as it seems here. They have held onto their traditions. Lobster is their biggest fishing crop and blueberries their biggest agriculture crop.
Lobster fishing shacks, built on rocks
Peggys Cove lighthouse, complete with bagpiper.
Today was our last day in canada. Weather was beautiful. Did not need any coat. We toured a moving immegration museum and visited peggy's cove. The most picturesque little town!

Prince Edward Island is a canadian province that was where LM Montgomery grew up and then pased her anne of green gables series. As an island fishing, and shell fishing are part of the economy along with farming and tourism.
This is the house Anne lived with her adoptive parents. Someday I would love to bring Rayah and Keira to visit.

This horse took me on a carraige ride around the property where LM Montgomery grew up. What a fascinating woman.

A A rainy but pleasant day in charlottetown and visiting various anne of green gables houses.

There is a boat in this picture but it is being covereed by a wave.
Ready to go! Can you beleive our underwear wass soaked when we were done? We also had on yellow slicker pants under the coats!

The area was known for ship building. This is the inside of the market, made like an upside down boat hull.

You cannot tell but these guys are clawing desparately at the air. Lobster is everywhere here!

Yesterday we visited saint john new brunswick. Quaint town. We went to old city market. We toured a wonderful museum. AND we road the rapids. This is where the saint john river meets the bay of fundi. Tide rises and falls 28 1/2 ft! There are incredible whirlpools. It rises or falls 6 ft and hr. To really get to understand what it is like we road a jet boat out into the middle of it! We were well protected and still through slickers, and fleace, and layers we were drenched!

I will now attempt to add all the pictures from the trip to be view as a slide show. Until the next experience, wilson travels will be taking a break.

In case you wonder what we do on port days, this is me and Bjorn the yoga instructor, doing warrior position 3. Imagine doing sun saluatiions to the blue sky and ocean just outside the window. I took 18 classes so far. We also have had lecturers, there is a Psychologist right now talking about our unique selves. We read, I think I have finished 9 books. We play scrabble, or quidler most nights. We sit in the sun by the pool. They have arts and crafts which I have done. They have a great gym and I have used the bike regularly. And of course we eat.

Another day, another town.

Today we are in Copanhagan Denmark. This is jim leaving city hall. Copenhagan was occupied by germany from 1940 -44. Today it is run by a parliament and there is a queen Margaret.

We visited the famous Tivoli gardens. Beautiful as you can see. There are gardens, fountains, ponds, ducks, a theatre that had a ballet presentation while we were there (with live orchestra in the pit), and amusement park rides. Very different than Kennywood. The weather was great, the place was peaceful. We have been very blessed! The sea has been calm all month and the weather good. St P was the only cold weather and it is up there in the Hinderlands. To get my bearings we had to go to the library and look in at atlas a few times. Jim and I both enjoyed Copenhagan and would return here.

This is the original Pagoda from when Tivoli was built in 1843. The gardens were incredible. I enjoyed Copenhagan so much in 4 short hours I took 175 pictures. These are just a sampling.
